As with other&nbsp;<em>pi\u2019el&nbsp;<\/em>forms the middle root letter is doubled with a&nbsp;<em>sh\u2019va.&nbsp;<\/em>When the middle root letter can\u2019t be doubled, there are other compensations, but the&nbsp;<em>sh\u2019va<\/em>&nbsp;under the signal letter is constant. The vowel on the first root letter is normally&nbsp;<em>patakh.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"padding-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--80);padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--80)\">Because their middle root letter can\u2019t be doubled, empty&nbsp;\u05e2&nbsp;roots are not conjugated in&nbsp;<em>pi\u2019el<\/em>. Instead, a variant binyan called&nbsp;<em>polel<\/em>&nbsp;takes the place of&nbsp;<em>pi\u2019el&nbsp;<\/em>for those roots.
